
Join us for an Indigenous Land Blessing event to pave the way for the construction of Thunder Woman Healing Lodge on its future site!

The ceremony will begin at 12pm. Due to social distancing, participation on the site during the ceremony will be more limited than we would like, but we will create opportunities for community participation. All are welcome.

About the Lodge:
An Indigenous owned and led women’s Healing Lodge in the GTA is long overdue and the Covid-19 pandemic has made the need clearer than ever. The planned six-storey Thunder Woman Healing Lodge will be a unique model providing First Nation (Status and Non-Status), Inuit, and Metis 2SLGBTQIA+ women a combination of trauma-informed, culturally appropriate wrap-around services and affordable transitional housing under the same roof to support their journey out of the justice system toward wholeness and balance.
With only two other Indigenous-led healing lodges for Indigenous women in Canada, the Lodge will be the first of its kind in Ontario. In keeping with Indigenous teachings about Respect for the Land, TWHL is striving to develop a Green Building showcasing .
