Women represent the minority of the overall incarcerated population, but the systemic over-incarceration of Indigenous peoples has been clearly documented and Indigenous women are the starkest statistic of all. Despite representing less than 4% of the population, Indigenous women account for over 60% of incarcerated women and are the fastest growing of any prison demographic. We collect and share research and inquiry-based reports on Indigenous peoples, women, and Indigenous women in conflict with the law.
