Community-based Aftercare

Daughters of the Earth is a community-based day program for Indigenous 2SLGBTQIA+ women who have come into contact with the criminal justice system. The 16-week program aims to support, empower, and facilitate participants in their healing journey through culturally appropriate and strengths-based teachings.

Teachings include:

  • Learning about identity
  • The significance of Elders
  • Community engagement
  • Healing and sharing circles
  • Art and creative healing
  • Drumming and singing
  • Trauma and addictions counselling

Participation in the 16-week program is by registration. Community drop-in times are offered Thursdays 1-3pm for those wanting to learn more.

TWHL’s Daughters of the Earth program is made possible with the support and partnership of the Ministry of the Solicitor General and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
